Shutting down the "Cycle of Life"

Earlier this week commissioners from Hamilton County in Ohio agreed to a $8 million settlement stemming from a suit after artist Thomas Condon took a series of photos in the county morgue during 1999 and 2000. The project, which Condon titled "Cycle of Life," depicted bodies at the morgue -- some of which had been recently autopsied -- with an assortment of items, from snails and sheet music to a miniature ladder. The project incensed locals with family in the morgue and eventually led to a class action suit. Another related article with additional info is here.
