2005 Pulitzers Announced The 2005 Pulitzer Awards were announced today in New York. Among the winners were the Associated Press staff for breaking news photography for continuing coverage of the Iraq war, and Deanne Fitzmaurice of the San Francisco Chronicle "for her sensitive photo essay on an Oakland hospital’s effort to mend an Iraqi boy nearly killed by an explosion."
