VII photo stories are coming soon to a paper near you, thanks to a distribution with the AP.
Under the terms of the deal, VII will provide AP with weekly picture story packages and access to its archive. The wire service will offer the images to its member newspapers and other clients for licensing through AP PhotoArchive and AP Wide World Photos. AP will share the licensing proceeds with VII.
While I don't know the specifics on the contract the two have signed, I'm excited about the thought bringing some hardcore photojournalism to the masses, by making some of the best photojournalists in the business more accessible. After all, the work they're doing deserves to be seen (by someone other than a few hundred photo geeks, myself inlcluded, who buy their books).
