Anyone catch the NPR interview with legendary rock photographer Jim Marshall yesterday? If not, it's definitely worth a listen.
Marshall photographed such icons as Jimi Henrix, Janis Joplin, the Beatles -- and he did it his way. Known for demanding that he have total access, and the freedom to do whatever he wanted -- he got a bit of a reputation as being a pain in the ass. But because of his undying passion for his subjects, he captured them in some of the most memorable and personal moments we've seen, all while doing what was most important to them -- letting them keep their dignity.
